Set in an original grain store that was built in 1882, and located within New Zealand’s most
complete streetscape of Victorian commercial buildings, Whitestone City is a central heritage
hub that facilitates interactive tours of the Victorian Heritage Precinct. It's not a typical museum,
at Whitestone City you can touch and try everything - it brings history to life!
Come and dress up like real Victorians and fit-out in the style of a colonial town where activities,
displays, merchants, and an array of people in costume provide a glimpse of what the street would
have been like in the town’s early days.
Live displays, video imaging and plenty of interaction will immerse visitors in a living, breathing past.

Movie Nights At Whitestone City
Come enjoy movie nights in our quirky movie theatre!
Fortnightly Tues/Thursday at 8.00 pm
We show movies from Rialto, an independent film company specialising
in independent, arthouse, foreign language and documentary titles.

Puppet Show
A unique opportunity to see Puppeteer Norbert Hausberg and his hand-crafted marionettes bringing stories to life inspired by New Zealand and international history. Show will last approximately 1 hour. Limited seats.
Teddy Bears Picnic
Bring your children and their teddy bears down to join in the fun and games at Whitestone City for a
Teddy Bears picnic. You will also be entertained with a traditional animal puppet show presented by international duo Natural Magic Pirates. Limited numbers
