Tongariro Alpine Crossing Shared Group - October to June

From mid October to mid June. Join us to find out why this is often referred to as the best one day walk in New Zealand, (if not the world), with a Guide who will reveal some of the secrets of this stunning area.
The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is a challenging one-day alpine trek which covers a little over 19.4km (12 miles) and encounters a varied range of landforms and views. This track passes through areas of fascinating geology and is of great cultural significance, as it heads up and over Mt Tongariro
Enjoy an unhurried, full-day experience over Tongariro, as we avoid the crowds. Take in the varied colours and textures as the landscape changes dramatically throughout the day.

From mid October to mid June, we can offer any of our hikes, with no others joining into your group. Whether you join us to discover the Tongariro Alpine Crossing or go with another of the many hiking options available in and around Tongariro National Park, with a Guide who will reveal some of the secrets of this stunning area. We can easily adapt the choices to best suit the your needs and the weather.

A short hike experience, perhaps shared with other travellers. We can offer various start times, so please let us know what time of day suits you best.

Solo travellers may need to pay an additional $70.00 surcharge to operate a trip for just one person. Payable the evening before the hike.

Full Day Hikes Shared Group

Looking for a full day hike other than the Tongariro Alpine Crossing? Happy to share the day with others? We have many hikes to choose from in and around Tongariro National Park. Waterfalls, lakes, rivers, forests, big vistas looking up at volcanoes, alpine deserts, there is something for everyone. We can head off on one continuous journey or we can join several short walks together to make a day of walking. Descriptions of each option are found on our website.

Tongariro Alpine Crossing - July to October

From mid June to mid October, a guided winter Tongariro Alpine Crossing is truly unique. The world famous walk, wearing it's Winter coat. This one-day alpine trek covers a little over ‚Äč19km (12 miles) and encounters a varied range of landforms and views, with areas of geological importance, and of great cultural significance, as it heads up and over Mt Tongariro.

The added dimension of walking the track in snow conditions adds a different type of beauty and another type of challenge. We provide all of the equipment that you need, but most importantly, we teach you how and when to use it safely, so it is a trip that can be done by people who have never even touched snow before!
