Rotorua Rafting are the Kaituna River (Okere Awa) Specialists. Offering the most spectacular white water rafting in Okere Falls, Rotorua. Home to the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world at 7m - Tutea Falls!
We provide wetsuit, booties, helmet, buoyancy aids and a good time. We also provide a courtesy shuttle from central Rotorua departing 40mins before trips times.
No experience necessary. Just bring your smile, screams, swimwear and towel.
Age limit: 10 years half river trip, 13 years and over full river trip (must fit safety equipment).
Trip time is 1 hour on the river but it is recommended to allow 2 hours for self drive, or 3 hours if you require transport.
Okere Awa Grade 3
Come and Experience the Okere Awa guided tour with Rotorua Rafting, where you will be guided through prehistoric Aotearoa on land and on the river.
Starting off with a gentle bush walk you will listen to the history of the local area from the first Te Arawa waka (canoe) arriving on the shores of the Bay of Plenty to the take over of the Okere awa from local tribes.
Learn about the ancient healing methods, war techniques and how the river served the local tribe.
As you end your educational but entertaining walk you will be met by the rafting team who will guide you down the beautiful lower section of the Okere Awa and through several grade 3 rapids that will keep you excited and wanting more while you look up in awe at the beautiful bush clad gorge.

Rotorua Paddle Tours - Ohau Channel
We start this tour on an ancient volcanic Crater (Lake Rotorua) which is Rotorua's Largest and most historic lake, then we paddle down the Channel that connects Lake Rotorua with Lake Rotoiti. The Channel is a calm, slow river surrounded by Historic Maraes, Scenic Reserves; the riverbank lined with native trees and birds.
